Matthew 23:23-26 (August 25)

Jesus here shows how the pharisees are hypocrites. He said they focus on collecting tithes than focusing on judgement, mercy and fidelity.
I think this passage should be seen by the politicians and other corrupted leaders, yes collecting taxes and tithes and earning more money is good. But how about actually focusing on why the laws are there in the first place? Taxes and tithes are collected, but where do they actually go? The rich and getting richer, the poor are getting poorer, the gap is widening and there hasn't been any improvement on this because the people in power take their time in their self-indulgences.
